According to the WSTS, the semiconductor market will grow 17% to $397 billion in 2017.
Memory will grow 50%.
In 2018, WSTS is forecasting a 4.3% rise to $414 billion.
The market first hit $100 billion in 1994 and then took six years to first reach $200 billion in 2000. It then took 13 years to first reach $300 billion in 2013.
So, it does reach $400 billion next year, it will only have taken an unprcedentedly short five years to add $100 billion.
Last year the market grew 1.1% to $338.9 billion – an all-time high.
