Boeing has topped Airbus in the air show order haul for the first time since 2012, driven by 336 orders and commitments for its new 737 Max 10 narrowbody aircraft alone – worth up to $40 billion at list prices.

The biggest buyer at the Paris show was General Electric Co.’s GE Capital Aviation Service (GECAS), which ordered 100 Airbus planes valued at $10.8 billion. GECAS also converted 20 Boeing options to the Max 10 from Max 8 and MAX 9 versions. In total Boeing secured 336 MAX 10 commitments, including around 200 conversions from other MAX versions.

Canada’s Bombardier Inc. announced Tuesday it had secured a letter of intent from India’s Spicejet for 50 Q400 turboprop aircraft worth up to $1.7bn. The order comes a day after the Montreal-based company signed deals with Philippine Airlines for seven Q400s and Ethiopian Airlines for five Q400s, bringing its two-day sales to $2.1bn.

Brazilian planemaker Embraer booked orders for 48 planes in deals totalling about $1.6bn, including orders for 20 of its new fly-by-wire E195-E2 airliners. France’s ATR recorded orders for 15 aircraft worth around $300m.
