Gavrielov’s decision to step down from his operational role will bring to a close a 40 year career in semiconductor and software related companies.

The board has elected Victor Peng, the company’s COO to succeed him as CEO.

Gavrielov took over the job from Wim Roelandts who succeeded founding CEO Bernie Vonderschmitt. He has kept Xilinx as No.1 in FPGA in its perennial struggle with Altera,
