Qualcomm announces operator and OEM modem partners

Qualcomm says its latest Snapdragon X50 5G modem will be trialled by 19 network operators.

The trials will be run in sub-6 GHz spectrum and in mmWave spectrum,

Among the operators are: AT&T, BT, China Telecom, China Mobile, China Unicom, Deutsche Telekom, KDDI, KT, LG U+, NTT DoCoMo, Orange, Singtel, SK Telecom, Sprint Corp, Telstra, TIM, Verizon Communications, Vodafone, EE and T-Mobile

The 18 OEMs are said to be starting to launch products using the X50 next year.

They include: ASUS, Fujitsu, HMD (Nokia), HTC, inseego, LG, NetComm, Netgear, OPPO, Sharp, Sierra Wireless, Sony, Telit, Vivo, WNC, Wingtec, Xiaomi, and ZTE.

Samsung and Apple don’t appear on the list.
