Called Apollo 2, the firm claims the chip has the potential to double the battery life in wearable devices.
Scott Hanson, founder and CTO, Ambiq Micro, writes:
“Our sub-threshold technology will bring a similar pace of innovation to the IoT. It allows us to drive energy consumption below what we previously imagined was possible.”
Device peripherals include:
- 14-bit analogue-to-digital converters
- Digital microphone interface with pulse density modulation (PDM) for voice application
- Voltage comparator
- Temperature sensor
- I2C/SPI for communication with sensors, radios, co-processor and other peripherals
