Foxconn-Sharp to build LCD plant in China

One site for it is Guangzho but Foxconn is said the be talking other cities in China to get the best deal.

Foxconn owns, or has a controlling interest in, three LCD companies – Sharp, Innolux of Taiwan and Sakai Display of Japan.

Collectively the three companies’ output represents a 20% world market share.

This makes the Foxconn output the third largest LCD manufacturer after Samsung and LG.

The new factory is said to be either a 10.5G or 11G class factory which indicates the size of the substrate used.
