Pogo-pins aimed at wearables

Harwin pogo pins and contact pads

“Pogo-pin connectors have multiple applications, including wearable medical and fitness devices, mobile phones, car stereos, and notebook and tablet computers,” said the firm.

Pins have a free height from 2.4 to 8.2mm and are also available as multi-contact connectors in 2, 3, 4 or 5 contact configurations and as individual pins in two barrel sizes: 1.03 or 1.50mm in diameter.

The range includes contacts with a through-hole peg which can be used for plated-through-hole soldering or as a location peg on the surface-mount base.

Barbs are included for retention in mouldings – which enables ‘ganged’ operation.

The heads are rounded with a gold finish for maximum life and reliable mating, and the S70 range of surface-mount flat contact pads gives the pins somewhere to land if the PCB surface is unsuited.

These are available in various shapes, sizes and thicknesses:

  • 2.5 x 1.6 x 0.15mm
  • 3.8 x 1.8 x 0.1mm
  • 3.8 x 3.0 x 0.5mm

  • 2.0 x 1.0 x 0.1mm (1mm dia ends)
  • 2.0 x 1.0 x 0.2mm (1mm dia ends)

Available on tape & reel for automated assembly, with between 2,000 and 5,000 pieces per reel.
