XP expects the deal also give new customers in the photovoltaic and induction heating industries.

Duncan Penny, chief executive of XP Power, writes:

“The acquisition will enable us to provide our existing customers with a comprehensive product offering in RF power, a market segment with robust demand fundamentals but one in which we did not previously specialise.”

Comdel will become XP’s business offering RF power products and Comdel’s CEO, Scott Johnson, will remain with the business to head up the new division.

Comdel and XP Power share several customers, particularly in the semiconductor equipment sector.

Comdel products will be available through XP Power’s 27 sales offices throughout Europe, North America and Asia.
