Yamal LNG set to deliver gas via Arctic to China

Russia is to officially launch the first phase of its liquefied natural gas facility on the Yamal Peninsula above the Arctic Circle.

At full capacity, the Yamal facility will be able to produce 16.5 million tonnes of liquefied natural gas a year, delivered to Europe and Asia by 15 purpose-built ships capable of breaking through two-metre-thick Arctic ice.
