Samsung’s estimated chip revenue for Q2 is $15.1 billion and Intel’s $14.4 billion, according to Nomura.

For the full year, forecasts put Samsung’s chip sales at $63.6 billion and Intel’s at $60.5 billion.

Intel needed to beat Samsung this year to match TI’s record of 25 years as No.1.

It may be difficult for anyone else but Samsung to beat TI’s record because, when Samsung’s founder Byung-chull Lee, put Samsung into the mainstream chip business he said that the company’s aspiration was to get to No.1 and retain that position for the succeeding 100 years.
